Abstract

676,993. Rotary meters. HYDRAULIC RECORDING INSTRUMENTS, Ltd., and BATTEY, S. D Oct. 20, 1950 [Dec. 7, 1949], No. 31454/49. Class 110(ii) A liquid meter, of the positive displacement type, such as described in Specifications 627,505, [Group XXIX], and 629331, is provided with inlet and outlet ports 5, 6, at opposite ends of its casing 1, 2 and a magnetic coupling 35, 36 conveying the drive from the metering chamber to the indicating or recording mechanism 28. A non-return valve 27, in the inlet 5, and a strainer 21, may be provided. The metering chamber, formed by the parts 7, 8, 9 are clamped between the casing ends 1, 2. As shown, a gyratory piston 11 is slotted to slide on abutments 14, and drives a shaft 17 through a disc 18. Gearing, including a worm gear, transmits the drive to a wormwheel 39. A diaphragm 34 separates the cup-shaped coupling parts 35, 36 which are of opposite polarity.
