Abstract

The housing has increased clearances to allow for expansion at high temp. esp. if the temp. of the liq. metered varies. The motion of the ring pistons is transferred via a planetary arrangement with a central boss on the piston assembly and a central boss on the housing to an output shaft with a geared drive to a meter. Bevel gears are used. Liq. is fed into inlet and passes out at right angles to the chamber. The chamber is closed by rings leaving a gap for the control web of the ring piston. The gap leaves sufficient clearance to prevent jamming. The appts. may be used for measuring the flow of milk at 90 deg.C.
