[Class 100 (ii)] Inking-apparatus. - In an intaglio printing- machine in which the flexed reciprocating doctor 12 is supported by a backing plate 16 means are provided at each end of the cylinder to flex the backing plate away from the doctor to reduce the friction on the doctor and to prevent displacement or bending of the latter in these regions. As shown arcuate plates 19 adjustably secured by bolts 22 and slots 20 to the press frame at each side have projecting parts of which bear against the end portions of the backing plate 16.
