25,240. Linotype & Machinery, Ltd., Pearce, H., and Parker, T. R. G. Nov. 14, 1912. Rotary offset machines.-The machine described with reference to Fig. 10 of Specification 26,195/12, and comprising two plate cylinders, two transfer cylinders, and two impression cylinders, is not limited to the pyramidal arrangement of the six cylinders as in the abovementioned Specification. With this machine, a sheet'may receive offset impressions on opposite sides by being passed first between the impression cylinder 5 and offset cylinder 3 and then between the impression cylinder 6, and offset cylinder 4. For a multicolour impression, an offset blanket is fitted on the cylinder 5, and the sheet is first passed between this cylinder and the cylinder 6 and then between the cylinders 6, 4. For this last method of printing, the cylinders 5, 6 are suitably tripped from each other and from the offset cylinders 3, 4 by mechanism such as is described in the abovementioned Specification.
