Abstract

226,816. Johne-Werk Grafische Maschinen-Akt.-Ges. Dec. 22, 1923, [Convention date]. Rotary offset machines. -A rotary offset machine is constructed with two coacting offset cylinders c, d which each receive multiple impressions from plate cylinders a, b, the diameters of which are a multiple of the offset cylinders c, d. The sheets to be printed are fed from a feed table 13 to grippers 11 on the offset cylinder d at the same time as the cylinder c comes into contact with the final printing-plate on cylinder a. At this time also the cylinder c, which is normally in the dotted line position out of contact with cylinder d, is moved in an orbit concentric with the cylinder a into contact with cylinder d, whilst preserving its contact with cylinder a. The sheet is thus perfected with two or more offset impressions, and after this is delivered by grippers 14 on chains 15 on to a pile 16.
