Abstract

581,557. Printing-machines. CLARKE, F. J., and McBEAN, G. A. April 16, 1945, No. 9470. [Class 100 (ii)] An automatic multi-colour platen printing- machine is constructed of a series of machines, each of which includes a sheet-feeding means on one side of the moving platen, looking towards the forme, and delivery means on the other side, and each machine may be used separately or sheets may be printed in multicolour by passage in succession from one machine to the next. The machines may be constructed with feed and delivery mechanism as in Specification 581,554, and this may be modified by employing a transverse reciprocating rod having a pair of gripper bars, one of which feeds a sheet to the second or other succeeding machine from a table to which the sheet is delivered by the preceding machine. The machines are preferably driven independently, but are synchronised when used for multi-colour work.
