[Class 51 (i) ] In an underfeed stoker in which the fuel bed supplied with fuel by a screw conveyer C is surrounded by a blast box B, the blast box is surmounted by four tuyere blocks D which are L-shape in plan and arranged at the corners of the blast box with their ends abutting adjacent tuyere blocks preferably at the middle of the sides and ends. Air passes from the blast box B into the passages d<SP>3</SP> within the tuyere blocks and is discharged through openings d<SP>4</SP>, d<SP>5</SP>. Strengthening fins d<SP>2</SP> are provided on the tuyere blocks.
