529,323. Winding yams; artificial silk. BARMER MASCHINENFABRIK AKT.-GES. May 26, 1939, Nos. 15785, 15786 and 15787. Convention dates, May 27, 1938, Nov. 18, 1938 and April 19, 1939. [Class 120 (ii)] [Also in Group IV] Artificial silk yarns or threads, particularly fresh spun yarns or threads, wound on a stationarily mounted positively driven rotating bobbin by a reciprocating thread guide, pass from the thread guide over part of the surface of a movably mounted rotating roller and directly from the surface of the roller to the winding surface of the bobbin which frictionally drives the roller. As shown the thread 1 passes from the traversing guide 2 to the surface of a roller 3 resting against the bobbin 5 and pivotally mounted by a support 4. The support for the guide may be pivotally mounted so that the guide contacts with the surface of the roller. The thread guide and roller may be arranged so that the thread contacts with the roller over an arc subtending an acute angle. Specification 403,809 is referred to.
