Abstract

<PICT:0421174/IV/1> In machines for spinning artificial silk three or more bobbin holders 9 mounted on dead spindles 8 are carried by a rotatable plate 14, so that after treatment such as washing may be carried out on rotating bobbins between the winding and doffing operations. A fixed disc 11 is arranged so that central pins 10 in the spindles 8 are operated thereby to move the holders 9 from engagement with driving-clutches 7 when the plate 14 is rotated. The disc 11 is so shaped that, as the plate is rotated, the fully wound bobbins rotate in a washing-trough and are stopped when in the doffing position.
