Abstract

579,402. Braiding-machines. FAIRE BROS, &. CO., Ltd., and BURROWS,. T. March 28, 1944; No. 5693. [Class 74 (i)] The rotatable bobbin holder is mounted upon' the spindle so that its weight is taken by a bearing at or near the top of the spindle. The holder 1 may have a tubular barrel closed at its upper end and a ball 7 may be arranged between the end closure 5 for the barrel' and the top of the spindle. The holder 1. carries a flange 3 having projections 4 punched therefrom to form the usual ratchet engaged by a spring- pressed plunger 16 which can be withdrawn by the tension in the yarn or thread. A pin 11 is provided for retaining the. holder upon the spindle when a used bobbin is pulled off the holder.
