528,341. Creels. FIRESTONE TYRE & RUBBER CO., Ltd. May 4, 1939, No. 13361. Convention date, July 28, 1938. [Class 120 (ii)] [Also in Group XXV] Apparatus for covering elastic or other cores with a winding of cotton, silk, rayon, &c. is provided with a flyer 21 consisting of an L-shaped arm fixed in a piece of fibre &c. 22. The flyer positions the covering yarn 11 circumferentially. As the yam comes off its bobbin 10 it passes over the edges of two plates 17, 18 which position it radially. The plates are spaced by a tubular washer 19 on which the member 22 is loosely mounted. The yarn also passes over the edge of a flange 20, formed on a spindle 15, secured to the bobbin 10 by a lock nut 16.
