247,421. Boyd, T. A., Boyd, H. A., Boyd, J., and Boyd, Ltd., J. & T. March 28, 1925. Thread-severing arrangements. - A device for cutting the yarns in spinning, twisting, and like frames comprises a rod 1 with notches 1<1>, 1<2>, and sharpened thimbles 2, 3 resiliently mounted in relation to each other. In the arrangement shown, the rod is adapted to serve two spindles and the thimbles are loosely mounted in supports 4, 5, the rod being supported by a spring 9 and moved longitudinally by means of a rod 7 to sever the yarn against the edges of the thimbles. In a modification the thimbles are supported in spring holders and the rod is adapted to serve a group of spindles. Specification 20943/06 is referred to.
