[Class 74 (i).] The thread-tensioning device of a braiding-machine comprises a pivoted catch h engaging teeth v on the bobbin holder u and actuated by the engagement of a we: ght p with a wire member t connected to the catch. The weight p is raised by the tens.on in the thread, against the action of a spring o, and a second spring s is provided to assist in returning the catch h to its locking position, The springs and weight are mounted upon a vertical guide l of relatively flat section, and the springs are shaped to avoid interference with the thread.
