Abstract

527,795. Valve circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and ALDOUS, W. H. April 20, 1939, No. 11918. [Class 40 (v)] A valve circuit for separating a signal input at 22, 23 into two components, e.g. a vision signal and a synchronizing signal, comprises a valve in which the control grid 4 allows some electrons to pass to a main electrode 3 and deflects the other electrons to a subsidiary electrode 5. The valve also contains accelerating and screening grids 7, 8, 9 and is generally similar to the valve described in Specifications 491,994 and 498,598. The output from the anode 3 is fed to the control electrode of a vision tube 25 whilst the output from the electrode 5 is fed to a valve 27 which controls suitable time-base circuits. The circuit can be used to furnish from the two electrodes 3, 5 a push-pull output. According to the Provisional Specification the circuit can be used to separate combined vision and speech currents.
