Abstract

[Class 40 (v)] Distortion due to curvature of the characteristic of a valve is avoided by providing an additional electrode beyond the anode which is perforated to allow electrons to pass through it. Fig. 4 shows an arrangement in which the additional electrode d beyond the anode a is coupled to the output circuit. In a modification, Fig. 5, control is effected by varying the potential of the additional electrode d by including in its circuit an impedance Z. The valve may have additional electrodes and the constructional forms of electrodes described in Specification 451,662 may be employed.
