Abstract

675,469. Thermionic valves. RADIO PATENTS CORPORATION. Feb. 26, 1948 [March 29, 1939], No. 5883/48. Class 39 (i). [Also in Group XL (c)] A signal repeating circuit includes a thermionic valve having a cathode, a space charge grid 1 arranged to produce an "internal" cathode," a signal grid 2 and an auxiliary grid 3 connected to the signal grid, the cathode, or to a low potential source. Preferably the auxiliary grid is directly connected within the envelope to the signal grid or the cathode. The valve shown in Fig. 1B corresponds to a triode, and further grids may be added to make a valve corresponding to a tetrode or pentode. To neutralize high input admittance caused by high inter-electrode capacities and transconductance, the valve may be fed from a cathode follower which may be included in the same envelope as in Fig. 6.
