Abstract
525,194. Universal joints. POWERFLEX COMPONENTS, Ltd. (formerly G.S. VENDORS Ltd.), and HATCH, H. J. Feb. 14, 1939, No. 4792. [Class 80 (ii)] Circumferentially-spaced rubber blocks 8, 10 are secured by rivets to and located between annular discs or plates on the driving and driven shafts. The blocks are recessed to facilitate deformation and the blocks 8 fit between the blocks 10. The blocks 8 are arranged on both sides of the disc 2 secured to the driven shaft. The blocks 10 are secured to a plate 3 connected to the driving shaft and to a disc 5 connected by a casing 6 to the plate 3. The blocks 8 and 10 are separated by discs 13 corrugated so as partially to enclose each block which has a V-shaped recess 15. The discs 13 are connected by a sleeve 14. The plate 3 has a sliding ball and socket connection 20 with the shaft.
