[Class 83 (i)] Electricity, heating by.-Steel in the molten state is transferred to a coreless induction furnace and subjected to an alternating current of small energy and low frequency, heating being prevented by a cooling system in the furnace lining. The current is then reduced to allow of solidification and may be varied during cooling.
