Abstract

287,036. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. March 19, 1927, [Convention date]. Phosphorus .-Phosphorus and an aluminous cement are obtained by melting phosphates, under reducing conditions, in an electric or a shaft furnace with a slag formed by fusing, under reducing conditions, 70-90 parts of alumina with 30-10 parts of lime. Bauxites of high iron content may be employed in forming the slag, the iron being eliminated in the fusion in the form of a regulus. An example is given.
