Abstract
471,708. Heating by electromagnetic induction. ELECTRIC FURNACE CO., Ltd. Nov. 17, 1936, No. 31448. Convention date, Dec. 7, 1935. [Class 39 (iii)] The internal surface of a hollow metal body 1 is heated by an inductor 3 arranged in the hollow and surrounding an iron core 7, the supply frequency being sufficiently high to concentrate the heating at the inner surface 2 of the body. The inductor is a single hollow turn with perforated walls through which a quenching fluid is sprayed. The core is fitted with cooling tubes 8. Specification 435,343 is referred to.
