Abstract

358,886. Enamelling. KREIDL, 1., 5, Sebastian Kohlgasse, Vienna. July 8, 1930, No. 20640. Convention date, Aug. 7, 1929. [Class 56.] Before enamelling iron, a phosphoric acid solution or pseudo-solution of salts or compounds that cannot decompose or liberate gases of the metals producing the adhesion of the enamel on the iron is applied to the surface of the iron at ordinary temperatures, raised temperatures being advantageous for the drying. Suitable metals are cobalt, nickel, copper, and chromium and the compounds specified are the phosphates, borates, or the colloidal oxides or hydroxides of such metals. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) refers also to repairing damaged enamels by the present process. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
