504,159. Gas - producer furnaces. HEIJDEN, W. J. VAN DER. April 29, 1938, No. 12821. [Class 51 (i)] A gas-producer furnace for central heating boilers is provided with a grate for supporting a deep bed of fuel having a central imperforate part 4 extending from the fire door end of the combustion chamber to the opposite end thereof and lateral grates 5 formed of bars spaced apart to provide small air passages. An air compressor 8 supplies air to the ashpit, to the flue 3 leading to the boiler and to the top of the fuel magazine 6. Specification 409,198 is referred to.
