Abstract

500,602. Two - part couplings. GENERAL ACCESSORIES CO., Ltd., and JOHNSON, P. A. Oct. 28, 1937, No. 29475. [Class 38 (i)] A wall socket 1 is provided with a shutter 20 that covers the live sockets when the plug is withdrawn, the shutter being mounted on a U-shaped support 19 pivoted at 15b and actuated through a snapaction mechanism from a slide 16 that is moved by the earth pin engaging a projection 16g thereon. The snapaction mechanism consists of a pin 21 rocking on a pivot 16b on the slide and carrying a spring 22 compressed between shoulders 21b and the support 19 through which the pin passes. The slide is returned to its original position when the plug is removed by a spring 18.
