Abstract
498,317. Buckles. WALKER, Ltd., T., and WALKER, G. T. July 9, 1937, No. 19062. [Class 43] A buckle for belts &c. comprises a member 6, hinged to the frame 1 of the buckle, and having a forwardly-projecting end 8 adapted to be passed through an aperture in one end 4 only of the belt &c. and to engage the buckle frame, e.g. by being passed through a slot 7 and coupled to the frame by a hinged latch bar 10 engageable with a slot 9. In a modification, Fig. 7, a set-back plate 14 is formed with a hook 16 to form a " cast-off attachment with the other end of the belt &c. In a further modification, Fig. 9, the hinged member 6 is shaped at 17, 18 to snap-engage the buckle frame 1, the member 6 being extended to form a " cast-off " hook 20. In a further modification, the member 6 may be provided with a plurality of prongs, each adapted to be passed through a hole in one end of the belt and engageable with the buckle frame by a snapaction.
