[Class 44] A fastening for belts and the like of the kind in which a gapped loop engages a closed loop comprises a wire member bent to provide a loop 11 at right-angles to the plane of the belt and integral with a second loop one side of which is formed by the inturned and aligned ends 12 secured to one end of the belt 13. A second wire member comprises a loop 16 secured to the other end of belt 13 and integral with a loop 14 the free ends of the wire providing portions 17 which overlap through approximately 90 degrees and are pressed together by the resilience of the wire. One end 18 is off-set from the plane of the ring 14, Fig. 2, to facilitate engagement and disengagement of loop 11 by passage between the parts 17. Loop 1,1 may be of flattened or oval cross-section to facilitate such passage. In a modification the parts 12 are mounted in one end of a folded plate member the other end of which carries an ordinary buckle. The prong of the buckle can be engaged in any one of a number of perforations in the belt for adjustable attachment of 'loop 11 to the belt. The middle portion of the plate carries a keeper loop through which the free end of the belt can be passed after passing through the buckle.
