Abstract

596,229. Fastenings. SIEGEL, J. Oet. 4, 1944, No. 19051. Convention date, Feb. 8. [Class 44] A buckle for a strap comprises a plate having two projections at the back thereof and situated adjacent opposite ends of the plate, one projection being angular and the other projection being in the form of a stud having a shank and an enlarged head. The buckle 15 has a hooked pin 23 and a stud 19 which are passed through adjacent perforations 27<1>. 27<11> respectively in one end 29 of the strap. The loose end 30 of the other end 31 of the strap is passed through the longitudinal slot of a loop member 16 and is secured to the portion 31 as by means of a snap fastener 32. The eye of the loop member 16 is made to engage the stud 19 behind an enlarged head 20. One or more keeper loops 35 may be provided. The buckle may be arranged on the strap in reversed order, i.e. with the pin 23 engaging the eye of the loop member 16. The latter may be replaced by eyes or perforations punched in the end 30 of the belt itself.
