Abstract

962,157. Sliding clasp fasteners. S. F. WARREN. (Opti-Holding A.G.). June 15, 1960, No. 2773/64. Divided out of 962,156. Heading E2S. A sliding clasp fastener stringer comprises a synthetic plastic filament 1 of "wavy" formation bent to U-shape, the legs of the U-shaped loops being sewn to a stringer tape 3 and being provided with outwardly facing recesses 1c in which the stitches are located. As shown, fastener elements 1b are formed along the bend. Narrow tapes 4, 5 are inserted on the recesses 1c which are sewn together with the loops to the tape 3. The U-shaped legs may be disposed on one side only of the tape 3 and the tapes 4, 5 may be replaced by cords. If double chain stitching is used, one tape 4 or 5 may be replaced by the lower thread of the stitch.
