Abstract

1299918 Sliding clasp fasteners LIGHTNING FASTENERS Ltd 26 May 1970 [4 April 1970] 25062/70 Heading E2S The subject matter is substantially identical to that of Specification 1299913 but the claims are directed to a sliding clasp fastener comprising two knitted tapes to which two rows of interlocking elements are respectively attached by sewing, the tape margins 7 being formed with reinforced threads and the sewing threads 2 being disposed in the inter-wale grooves 6 nearest to the margins of the tapes. The threads connecting the wales adjacent the grooves in which the lines of stitching are situated are tensioned to increase the width of the stitching grooves for insertion of the sewing needles.
