506,556. Catamenial belts; buckles. EBORALL, C. W:, [Representative of RIGOLD, E. E.], and HELMORE, C. A. Feb. 9,1938, No. 4030. [Class 81 (ii)] [Also in Group VII] A catamenial belt comprises two elastic strip elements a, b, a towel engaging device in the form of a hook c and /or a tab e for'a safety pin on one end of each strip element, length adjusting means such as a slide f forming a loop g<1> and g at the other end of each strip element, clamping devices j, j<1> adapted to deflect a part of each strip element substantially at right-angles and means for connecting the loops of said strip elements to the clamping devices. Each clamping device has slots k and k<1> approximately at right-angles and slots l at 45‹ with both, but the anchoring device for the loops comprises the slot m in the rear member and a prong n with a return hook o in the front member. The latter enables the belt to be easily unfastened. In modifications, the rear clamping device may be dispensed with and either the two strip members are sewn together at the rear leaving a tab for fastening the towel or a single strip member is provided having a slide with a towel fastening device at the rear. The strip elements may be made of any suitable elastic fabric or other material and the damping devices and slides may be of any artificial substance or coated metal.
