Abstract

757,556. Watch bracelets. FIRTH, B. W. April 25, 1955 [April 26, 1954], No. 11955/54. Class 43. [Also in Group XXV] A clasp or fastener for wrist watch straps of the kind comprising two plate members 1, 2, of reversed curvature hingedly connected together and adapted to be folded and releasably secured on each other has a stud or other projection 11 on one plate member which is adapted to be engaged and retained in any one of the usual small holes in the strap. The stud or projection 11 is provided on a U-shaped bridge-piece 9 which acts as a strap retainer and which is hinged to the plate member 1 by means of projections 7 and 8 on the plate member which engage apertures in the bridgepiece 9. Upstanding ears 13 on the plate member 1 hold the bridge-piece in its normal position. The two plate members are hinged together by means of projections 3 on the plate member 1 which engage apertures 5 in ears 4 on the plate member 2. The plate member 2 has a transverse slot 15 for receiving part of the strap which is bent back on itself and sewn in place and it is also provided with an upstanding tongue 17 which is adapted to clip into a transverse slot 14 in the plate member 1 to lock the two plate members together.
