Abstract
404,811. Attaching watches to wrist; fastenings. BUTLER & HEATH, Ltd., and GRANT, J., School Street, Walsall. Feb. 1, 1933, No. 3071. [Class 43.] In attaching a wrist strap to a watch wherein the strap is passed through a watch-loop A, folded back and secured by a snap fastener the parts whereof are interleaved in strap layers 1, 2, the male fastener element is formed by bending a metal strip from each end back upon itself into an inverted T-shape to form a base 5 and two upstanding arms 6 curved to produce a split bar-like head 7. The arms 6 and head 7 may be narrower than the base 5. The outer layer 1 of the strap is extended for passing through the loop A and carries a socket plate 3 attached thereto by a leather layer 4 which may be reinforced by linen or other textile material. The plate 3 has a raised portion 9 with an oblong hole 8 adapted to receive the head 7 which is then accommodated inside the strap layer 1. Slits may be provided in the layer 1 to facilitate bulging out to receive the head 7.
