[Class 141] Braces of the kind which can be converted into belts comprise two separable straps 1, 2 to one end of each of which is permanently attached a brace tab 8 having a fastener, preferably of the dome type 9, 9a, so that it can be folded over to form a loop to receive a double button tab 10, and to the other ends of which are attached loops 4 to which button tabs are detachably connected. Buckles 3 are provided whereby the length of the straps 1, 2 can be adjusted. In one form of the invention, a strip of material is stitched to the strap 2 to form an eye 12 through which the strap 1 is inserted. Separate button tabs 6 are secured by dome fasteners 7 to the metal loops 4. In another form, button tabs 20 are permanently secured to a separate fork piece 17 which is also provided with tongues 15 which engage the loops 4. To form a belt, the fasteners 7 in the first form, or 15 in the second form, are undone, the straps separated and the double brace tabs 10 removed. Either strap can then be used as a belt, the brace tab 8 engaging the loop 4 to form a fastening.
