Abstract
620,254. Cord fasteners. NAPPER, A. F. Jan. 13, 1947, No. 1091. Addition to 612,600. [Class 44] [Also in Group VII] The fastening device of the parent Specification is modified to prevent accidental disengagement by the provision of a locking catch 16 slidably carried in the housing 2 provided with the uniting hook 11 and arranged to be moved to engage a transverse bar 9 on the other housing 1 when the hook is closed. The catch 16 is of channel section the lower limb 19 sliding on the floor 17 of the housing 2 and apertured at 20 to receive a pin 21 mounted to move with the hook 11. The size and disposition of the hole 20 are such that when the hook is closed the pin 21 moves the catch to a position where the hook 23 engages the bar 9 but when the hook 11 opens, the pin does not engage the catch. The catch can be slid back only by movement applied thereto by the wearer, e.g. by a finger nail. A spring may be associated with the catch to retain it in the locking position.
