Abstract

691,166. Door catches. JESPERSEN, K. H. Dec. 18, 1951 [Aug. 4, 1951 ], No. 29669/51. Class 44 In a door catch with a spring hook mounted on the door 4 and engaging a projection on a nab member 10, the spring hook consists of a latch member 1 bent into approximate U-shape and carried by a plate spring 3 bent rearwards from a fastening portion attachable to the rear side of the door and permanently attached to the interior of the latch member and the two branches of the latch member which are located one on each side of the spring, the outer branch being bent so as to form an outwardly projecting hook, form at their free edges, abutments for limiting rocking movement of the member in both directions. In the arrangement shown, in which a tongue 9 of the latch member 1 is of less width than the spring 3 and a tongue 11, the spring is welded to a part 7 of the latch member and to a mounting member 2 by which the spring and the latch member are adjustably secured to the rear side of the door 4. The nab member 10 consists of a plate 12 having a bulge 13 and is provided with elongated fixing holes and is attached directly to a door frame 19 or to a separate fastening plate 16. The plate 16 is formed with a bent-out tongue 18 which engages the rear face of the frame 19.
