[Class 44] A fastening device for motor car bonnets comprises a mounting 4, secured to the inside face of the bonnet 1, slotted at 5 to accommodate slidingly the headed pivot stud 15 of the hooked catch lever 7, and formed with a hook 14 engaged by a tension spring 13, the other arm of which engages a hook 12 on the catch lever. Two such devices may be fitted, the pivot studs 15 being constituted by the ends of a spring rod whose mid-point is attached to the bonnet panel.
