Catches, automatic. - A spring-actuated catch for cupboard doors; drawers, and the like of the kind comprising a three-armed lever, one mounted on one of the parts to be held together, the second held in hook-like engagement in a slotted plate on the other part by the force of a spring exerted on the third arm, is so constructed that a line passing through the end of the engaging hook e and the point h at which the spring k acts on the third arm is approximately perpendicular to the slotted plate d. The catch is released by pulling a rod 1, or, in a modification, by pushing such a rod through the medium of a hinged plate jointed to the rod and fitted with a snap fastener to engage an eyelet in the base plate.
