Abstract

212,036. Holland, H. W., and Mansfield, W. Jan. 17, 1923. Dropping bombs.-Two hooks B, B<1> are pivoted closed together on horizontal pivots b, b<1>, and are interconnected, for example by teeth B<2>, B<3>, so as to close and open simultaneously in opposite directions to hold and release the shackle: A of a bomb. The hook B is locked in the closed position by a trigger C actuated by a lever D. This lever is depressed by means of a finger piece d<1> to move the trigger C to the locking position shown, and is held in that position by a spring catch F. When this catch is pulled against its spring G and releases the lever D, the latter is rocked by a spring E, and throws the lever C out of locking engagement with the hook B, thereby allowing the bomb to drop.
