Abstract

168,187. Dexter, R. A. June 14, 1920. Hooks, safety.- A safety suspension hook comprises an open hook A to one end of which a bell-crank lever is pivoted. The suspension means is attached to one arm D of the lever and the other arm E serves to close the hook when under load. A recess is formed in the hook A to receive the arm E when the hook is opened and shoulders G, F may be arranged on the lever and hook to limit relative movement. The arm E is retained normally in the closed position by a spring J.
