Abstract

236,671. Holland, H. W., and Mansfield, W. April 14, 1924. Dropping bombs from a height.-Two jaws 3. 4 are pivoted on a single horizontal pin 2, and a single locking lever 10 influenced by a spring 15 is pivoted at 11 and adapted to hold both jaws in the closed position by means of inter. engaging parts 7, 9 and 12, 13, and also to hold one or both jaws in the open position; for example, the jaw 3 by the engagement of a, part 8 with the part 9. The jaws are adapted to grip the shackle 5 of a bomb; one or both of the jaws have secured thereto a lug 6 which causes the jaws to close when a shackle is inserted between them. An actuating cable, not shown, is attached to the lever 10 by a clip 16. Specification 212,036 is referred to.
