Abstract
412,087. Skips. SWAFFIELD, J. W., Durlock, Napchester Road, West Whitfield, Dover. Oct. 20, 1933, No. 29059. [Class 78 (iv).] In a drop-bottom skip, the doors 1, 2 are held closed by pivoted catches 8 which are directly engaged by a cam 11 on a locking bar 12 operated by the hand-lever 14. If the skip has a single bottom door the cam bears against a fixed abutment. The catches 8 and the bar 12 are housed in an arch member 6 extending across the body of the skip. The two catches may be pivoted on the same axis, the catches may be held in the release position by springs or by gravity.
