Abstract
143,192. Schmidtbaur, J. Feb. 5, 1920 Fastenings for sliding doors; catches, spring.- A fastening for sliding doors provided with two catches for securing the door in the open and closed positions respectively is operated by handles pivoted on vertical spindles which release either catch when pressed in the appropriate direction. The follower b upon the handle b<1> operates directly the catches d, e, while the connexion from the follower c on the handle c<1> is made through links f, g, lugs i, k limiting the movement. The inside and outside handles may be mounted at different levels, the spindles being extended fcr the purpose. A locking-bolt passing between the two followers, and engaging recesses therein secures the fastening against operation. In a modification, Fig. 3, each follower has a single lug i, k, so arranged that one handle operates directly the catch d, the other, through a link g, the catch e while the link n couples the handles together.
