Abstract

570,036. Hooks. RUSSELL. A. Feb. 24, 1944, No. 3437. [Class 89 (ii) ] A spring hook is made from parts stamped from sheet metal. The main portion A is blanked out and formed from heavy gauge stock and a hole is punched for the pivot pin D. The loop C to receive a chain, &c., is intended to be closed in after attachment. The latch is stamped from lighter gauge metal and has a base portion f with bent up sides f<1> extended to form lugs f<2> that embrace the hook and receive the pivot. Parts f<3> at the ends of the sides are bent inwards to meet and, in the closed position, abut the point of the hook. A V-spring G has one end g bent out to engage a shoulder E on the hook.
