Abstract

205,426. Lilley, A. E. Dec. 2, 1922. Belt - fastenings of the type in which centrally slotted U- shaped members attached to the belt ends carry transverse pins and the connecting link comprises a screwed stem with a hook at one end, the screwed stem adjustably engaging a tapped hole in one transverse pin whilst the hooked end detachably engages the other pin. The hooked end of the connecting link 8 is formed to one side of the axis of the screwed stem as shown. The transverse pin 1 is provided with a central anlargement 2 projecting through the slot in the U-shaped member and formed with the tapped hole to receive the screwed stem. The pin 1 is mounted in hardened steel bushes or liners 5 which may have flanges 6, or the bend of the U-shaped member may be lined with " pen steel " and a lip of metal from behind the slot pressed inwardly to lie behind the enlargement 2 to hold the pin 1 rotatably in position.
