Abstract

242,757. Coventry Chain Co., Ltd., and Clevely, C. E. S. Oct. 17, 1924. Driving - chains with separate joint pins.- A locking-plate for securing the detachable link plates has slotted portions 6, 9 adapted to slide in the usual grooves near the ends of the, studs 4, 3, the slot 6 forming part of a keyhole slot and the slot 9 being open, and the metal from the slot 9 is bent up to form a spring tongue 11 adapted to engage the end of the stud 3 and thereby secure the locking-plate in position. A projection 14 beneath the tongue is adapted to engage in a depression in the pin, as shown in Fig. 2, or the end 16, Fig. 4, of the tongue may engage over the edge of the stud.
