Abstract

524,235. Windscreen-wipers. O'SHEI, W. E. Jan. 24, 1939, No. 2502. [Class 138 (i)] A windscreen-wiper is provided with a device for taking various fitments for securing the wiper arm. As shown, the fitment is adapted for a curved wiper arm as in Specification 523,177 and comprises a curved member 22 having lugs 19, 20 which are inserted through a slot 9 in a channel-like member 3 secured to the metal backing 2 of the wiper 1. The lugs are prevented from leaving the slot by a spring 8 with a returned end 21, the spring engaging the end of the arm 23. In another form a hooked fitment is passed through the slot from the back of the member 3 which removably engages the back of the wiper.
