Abstract

524,165. Windscreen-wipers. O'SHEI, W. E., and TRICO-FOLBERTH, Ltd. Jan. 23, 1939, No. 2346. [Class 138 (i)] The blades comprise a squeegee member the rear part of which is provided with a reinforcement which is notched, pierced, indented, scored or otherwise weakened along its length so as to facilitate severance: As shown, the reinforcement consists of a channelled metal backing 4 which is provided with slits 7 and scores 6 at intervals. The reinforcement may be in the form of an embedded metal strip with transverse notches. The wiper is held in a clip 8 which can be slid along the blade and is fitted with a hook 9.
