Abstract

518,920. Windscreen-cleaners. O'SHEI, W. E., and TRICO-FOLBERTH, Ltd. Aug. 4, 1938, No. 23117. [Class 138 (i)] A blade for a windscreen-wiper comprises a channelled holder having, a closed back 5 and a constriction 6 spaced from the back, and a squeegee 1 having a head 2 which can be slid into the holder and held against tranverse movement by the constriction. The squeegee is held against longitudinal movement in the holder by a detachable plate 7, which engages in a slot 8 in the holder and a recess 10 in the squeegee, and which may comprise the usual hook 9 for attachment to the wiper arm. In a modification, the squeegee is held against longitudinal movement by a constriction or pin provided at the lower end only of the holder. The holder may be adjustable in length, a suitable length of squeegee being cut from stock. As shown in Fig. 4, the holder comprises telescopic parts 15, 16 which are retained in adjusted position by friction or by punchings 19. The parts 15 may be closed at their outer ends, one part being removed for insertion of the squeegee. The attaching hook 9 may be secured to the part 16 by a spring clip, so as to be adjustable thereon. According to the Provisional Specification, the squeegee may be retained in the holder by screws.
