Abstract
320,308. Lyth, J. J. Feb. 18, 1920. Tentering.-In a clip in which the upper pivoted jaw 22 has a slotted rear arm 25 engaged by a projection on an opening lever 33 pivoted to the clip body, the parts being so shaped that the lever 33 locks the jaw in its open position, the upper limb of the arm 25 is notched at 27 to receive a roller 38 on the lever 33 when the jaw 22 is locked in its open position. At other times the weight of the jaw 22 and lever 33 tend to close the clip, or in its extreme position the lever 33 may rest against a stop 21. The feeler 30 is pivoted to the jaw 22 its rear end being adapted to rest on the table 18 and the fingers at its front end to pass through slots in the table. A guard plate 40 prevents grease &c. from the driving chain from reaching the fingers 30.
