Abstract

539,542. Fastenings. CONSTANT SPEED AIRSCREWS, Ltd., and MARSHALL, F. G. Jan. 10; 1940, No. 521. [Class 44] A fastening for cowlings and engine housings comprises a number of studs 6 on one of the two parts 2, 3 to be fastened, adapted to pass through holes 9 in the other part and to be secured by keyhole slots 11 in a slider 10, which, after the studs have entered the wide parts of the slots, is moved to cause the narrow parts to engage necks 8 on the studs. The studs may be mounted on an angle piece 4 secured to 2, and the holes 9 may be formed in an angle piece 5 secured to 3. The slider is attached to 5 by studs 12 sliding on slots 13, and is moved to locking position by a lever key 14 pivoting on a pin 17 ahd engaging pins 15 on the slider. When the key is removed, a spring arm 19 engages the pins and prevents the slider from moving from the locking position.
