Abstract
149,779. Temple, E. B., (formerly Bregeon, E.). May 20, 1919. Portable locks and fasteners. - A portable fastening for drawers, doors, &c., of the kind comprising a strip turned up at one end to engage a fixed member and provided with holes or gripping-places for engagement by a lock, is constructed with a metal strip 1 with transverse slots or with attached metal ribs and formed with a hook and pin at one end. The strip extends through a lock fitted with levers 4, 9 having openings for the passage of the strip and projections to engage the slots therein after adjustment along the strip. A flexible or textile extension strip 2 may be applied to the strap and be provided with slots or ribs for engagement by the lock levers, or these may have spikes to engage the textile strip, disengagement being effected, according to the Provisional Specification, by the provision of frames between the lock levers.
